Vodafone and Motorola will partner on the Australian launch of the new Moto X Style flagship handset, with the telco committing to range the phone from ‘early September’.
The Moto X Style will be available in two stylish design options; a sleek black and a fantastic bamboo wooden finish. Full plan pricing is still to come, but there will definitely be an $83 per month plan, with a $3 per month handset repayment on the Vodafone $80 RED plan.
Based on the price of other similar phones in the Vodafone range, it would be safe to assume that Moto X Style might cost between $10 and $15 per month on the $70 RED plan, and should be $0 on the $100 plan option.
Style with substance
The Style is the third-generation of Moto X handsets and improves on its predecessors in a number of ways. It is more powerful, as you might expect, with a new processor designed with six cores — a quad-core for everyday computing, and a dual-core for low-power tasks, designed with battery saving in mind. It has more RAM too, with a bump to 3GB.
The camera in the new Moto X Style also receives a significant boost, not just in that it now shoots with a 21-megapixel sensor, but also with a new ‘phase detection autofocus’ system. This might sound needless techy, and somewhat like marketing guff, but simply put, phase detection should be the reason why the camera here shoots quickly and accurately.
One feature you should definitely check out in-store at Vodafone is the bamboo backplate on the Moto X Style. It’s a little less grippy than the standard rubber backed handset, but it looks and feels awesome. In a world where all your friends have the same iPhone, the bamboo cover is a real conversation starter.
We’ll be adding full pricing for the Moto X asap, so be sure to check back on our Vodafone carrier page for the full details.
