LG's dual screen phablet - the V20 - will make its way to Australian stores from November 8, exclusively through JB Hi-Fi at an outright asking price of $1,099.
The V20's key point of difference is a small 2.1-inch secondary display that sits above the phone's 5.7-inch Quad HD screen. This second screen is used for displaying notifications, launching apps, and extending certain apps (such as the camera).
While the V20 takes some visual cues from the LG G5, LG's new phablet eschews the modular functionality the manufacturer introduced earlier this year. The V20 does however use the G5's dual-rear camera setup; there's a 16MP f/1.9 lens, alongside an 8MP f/2.4 super-wide angle lens. Much like the dual camera setup found on the iPhone 7, the V20 simulates optical zoom through the use of multiple lenses, but while the iPhone 7 Plus lets you zoom in, the V20 lets you zoom out.
Despite the V20's aluminium build, it still has a removable battery, making it one of the few flagship smartphones that still lets you just swap out the juice box when you're running low. Unsurprisingly, the V20 isn't water-resistant.
Other key specifications include a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, and a 3,200mAh battery. The LG V20 runs Android Nougat out of the box.
