Telstra discounted its Extra Large Mobile Plan by $50 per month, skyrocketing it to the best value plan from the provider.
Normally priced at $115 per month, the discount drops this plan down to just $65 for 180GB of data on Australia’s largest mobile network, and is open to both new and existing Telstra customers.
This discount will be available until November 16.
While paying just $0.36 per GB is incredible data-to-dollar value, the discount is only available for the first 12 months with the provider, thereafter the plan will revert back to $115 per month. This deal is available as a SIM-only plan but can also be bundled with a handset such as the new iPhone 12 family.
Here are the phones available to bundle with Telstra.
It is important to note that if you add a phone onto the Extra Large Mobile Plan you will still be committed to Telstra until you have completed your phone repayments. Of course though, all Telstra mobile plans are now on a no-contract basis so you can always change phone plans to something more suitable once the promotional period expires. Alternatively you could always just pay out the remaining value of your handset after the year is over, if that is more your speed.
You’ll also get three months free access to the streaming service Binge, and 45,000 bonus Telstra Plus points which can be redeemed for discounts on products and services.

All Telstra plans - bar the Small 40GB Plan - include access to the provider’s 5G network which your 5G enabled handset will tap into when it is available. More 5G devices are popping up, with the newest iPhone 12 range being the most notable inclusion thus far. We’ve seen speeds of up to 1Gbps on the Telstra 5G network in our tests, but using these super fast downloads means you’re likely to plow through data faster than you would on a 4G or 3G connection.
Comparative big data plans in surplus of 120GB per month usually retail for between $79 and $120 with Optus and Vodafone, but you can nab 100GB for as little as $28 per month on smaller mobile operators such as Circles.Life.
