The already crowded world of music streaming is getting another new entry with the Australian launch of SoundCloud Go, a premium version of SoundCloud.

SoundCloud is an alternative music service often favoured by independent and up-and-coming musicians. While SoundCloud will still be accessible for free, SoundCloud Go provides subscribers with access to over 135 million more tracks on top of the free music anyone can already listen to. For comparison, Spotify only has a library of 30 million tracks.

SoundCloud Go also offers paying subscribers the option to save music for offline listening.

The launch of SoundCloud Go does however mean that that the free SoundCloud service will now be supported by ads.

As with almost every other music streaming service available in Australia, SoundCloud Go is billed at $11.99 per month. A 30-day free trial is available for new subscribers.

The SoundCloud Go app is available for iOS and Android.
