Aussie MVNO Savvytel is winding down its business with plans to close up shop completely "in the next few weeks".

This information was given to WhistleOut by a sales representative, however, it doesn't seem the same message is finding its way through official channels to the company's subscriber base.

Customers are complaining that they have not been given notice about the telco's decision, with no formal notification on the company's customer website. There is a notice page we found when trying to buy a recharge that reads that the company is "out of stock" and expect new stock "within two weeks.

This screen greets customers trying to recharge their Pre-Paid accounts.

WhistleOut is seeking comment from Savvytel about how these changes will affect customers, especially in regards to their phone numbers.

If you are concerned about losing your number, be aware that it is extremely easy to take it, and your business, to another mobile service provider. In most cases, it take only a few hours to port your number from one telco to another.
