Samsung Australia will push out an over-the-air software update to all remaining Galaxy Note 7 smartphones, limiting their maximum charge of 60%. The patch is designed to reduce overheating risk, and hopefully, annoy users into finally returning their devices.

The new measure is similar to the updated released on September 21 which limited the charge on original Note 7, but also targets replacement units that were initially thought of as safe.

If you've still got a Note 7 - whether it's an original device or replacement unit - you should really get around to replacing it - especially if you ever want to get on a plane again. Samsung has a recall hub on its website with further instructions, as well as a list of incentives from Australian telcos and retailers.
