Before we were all rocking these new-fangled iPhones and Androids, maybe of us cut our teeth on the likes of the Motorola RAZR or the Sony Ericsson Z610. I mean, you weren't really cool unless you had a hot pink RAZR.
While flip phones might just be a nostalgia tinged memory for most of us, Samsung launched a new one last week: the Folder 2 (which is an 11/10 pun, for what it's worth).
The Folder 2 is an Android-powered flip phone with a pretty sizeable 3.8-inch display, and a reasonably large T9 keyboard for banging out texts like its 1999. Since the Folder 2 runs Android, you're still able to use apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Skype, rather than being relegated to your standard talk and text options as with the new Nokia 3310.
Other specifications include a Snapdragon 425 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, a 1950mAh removable battery, and "15 special ringtones that focus on the audible spectrum of the middle-aged people".

The Galaxy Folder 2 retails for 297,000 won - about $340 - and like any good smartphone launched in 2017, is comes in rose gold (well, Samsung calls it burgundy, but it looks pretty pink to us). It's exclusively available in South Korea, and almost certainly won't see an Australia release, but we still love that it exists.
Samsung and LG both still regularly release Android powered-flip phones in their home market of South Korea, but unsurprisingly, these almost never get a wider release. Maybe the hype behind the 3310 relaunch could spur on wider availability?
