Razer - perhaps best known for its psychedelic gaming peripherals - surprised everyone by releasing a smartphone "for gamers" at the end of last year. Australia was omitted from the initial launch, but six or so months later, the Razer Phone is now available locally.
So what exactly makes the Razer Phone "for gamers"? Well, other than the requisite high-end hardware under the hood, there's a few unique points of difference. The most interesting of these is a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with a 120Hz display (standard phones use 60Hz panels), which can make motion look smoother. There's also Dolby Atmos certified front-facing stereo speakers. No headphone jack, though.

Other specifications for the Razer Phone include last year's Snapdragon 835 processor, 8GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, dual 12MP rear-facing cameras, and a 4000mAh battery.
You can pick it up for $1,099 from JB Hi-Fi online (you won't find it in stores) or direct through Razer's website.
