Optus SIM Only offer: 15GB for $40

Looking for that perfect bring-your-own-phone plan? If you're not afraid of a little commitment, Optus has a limited-time, online-only deal that's perfect for data lovers.

Switch to Optus' promo 12-month SIM Only plan before July 31, and you'll get 15GB of monthly fast data - plus unlimited national talk and text - for just $40 per month. The deal is available to both new and existing customers who sign up online and either open a new account, or re-contract their current service.

What you'll get (and how to sign up)

The $40 plan also includes unlimited international texts, 300 minutes of international calls to selected countries each month, and data-free music streaming from partnering providers, including Spotify, iHeartRadio and Google Play Music. You'll also get the option of adding Optus Sport to your plan, for an additional $15 each month.

To qualify for the deal, you'll need to buy online and sign a 12-month contract: so there's a minimum cost of $480 over your first year. However, compared to Optus' month-to-month SIM plans - which include 1.5GB of data for $35 monthly, or 6GB for $50 - it's an excellent option for customers with higher-than-average data demands.

More BYOD data deals

If you want even more gigabytes, Optus also offers a 12-month SIM plan with 20GB of monthly data for $70. Buy online, however, and you'll score a bonus 5GB data bump at no extra cost - bringing your total gigabytes up to 25 each month, for just $70.

In fact, all Optus 12-month SIM plans now include extra data for customers who sign up online. Right now, you can take home 3GB for $25 (including 1GB of bonus data) or - if you miss the aforementioned $40 deal - 15GB for $55 (including a 3GB data boost).
