Because 100GB is apparently not enough data for iPhone lovers, Optus is celebrating the launch of the already-on-back-order iPhone X with a very special promotional plan: 200GB for $149.
Yep, that's right - 200GB of monthly phone data for less than $150. In addition to all those gigabytes, you'll also get unlimited national calls and messages, unlimited international calls to selected countries, unlimited talk and text when roaming internationally, and 1.5GB of monthly international roaming data in selected countries.
You'll also get Optus' bonus entertainment extras, including an Optus Sport subscription, National Geographic app access, data-free TV streaming from Yes TV by Fetch, Netflix, Stan and more, and data-free music streaming from Spotify, iHeartRadio and Google Play Music. Awesome.
Plus vs. Flex: what you should know
The new $149 mega-plan is available to customers ordering the iPhone X, iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus on Optus' 24-month My Plan Plus and My Plan Flex options. So once you've picked out your preferred iPhone, you can either pay it off as usual on a two-year My Plan Plus contract, or lease your device on the 24-month My Plan Flex.
We've talked in more detail about My Plan Flex in this guide, but if you do decide to lease, you can upgrade to a new phone after 12 months. Otherwise, customers can simply hand back their iPhone once the 24-month Flex term is up.
Normally, a My Plan Flex lease means you'll pay about $10 less per month when compared to My Plan Plus, but will also be required to pay a $99 fee to upgrade early after 12 months. However, if you go with the new $149 My Plan Flex, you'll only pay $149 per month in total, including your lease costs - and you won't need to pay $99 to upgrade.
Customers should know that Optus is limiting the $149 plan to a maximum of six services per account, and if you're a shameless data hog and manage to exceed that 200GB threshold, you'll pay an additional $10 per excess gigabyte.
Otherwise, there's not much to dislike about this offer. If your data needs are near-limitless and you can swing that $149 price tag, jump on this deal while it's still available: considering how quickly the pre-ordered iPhone X sold out, we can't see this plan lasting for long.
