Optus prepaid customers can now get bonus data just for streaming video when they recharge. Every Optus 28-day recharge now includes 10GB of "streaming data" which can used to watch shows and movies on Netflix, Stan, and ABC iview without using your plan's standard allowance.
You'll get the 10GB bonus on every recharge you make up until September 2.
Optus is currently also throwing in generic bonus data for new customers who recharge at least $30. You'll get the bonus on your plan's first two recharges. These inclusions are as follows:
- $30 Prepaid Ultimate Plus: 3GB data + 5.88GB bonus data (for some reason)
- $40 Prepaid Ultimate Plus: 7GB data + 8GB bonus data
- $50 Prepaid Ultimate Plus: 10GB + 15GB bonus data
You can earn extra bonus data if you turn on auto recharge.
Optus' prepaid plans also unlimited talk and text, data-free music streaming through Google Play Music and Spotify (for recharges made by April 22), and a small amount extra credit that can be used for international calls and messages. All of the aforementioned plans are sold with a 28-day expiry.
If 10GB of streaming data isn't enough, Optus includes data-free video streaming on its postpaid SIM-only plans, but you'll have to commit to a 12-month contract. You will however also nab yourself a subscription to Optus Sport. Optus' SIM-only plans are as follows:
