If you happen to break the screen of your brand new OPPO R11s or OPPO R11s Plus in your first six months of ownership, OPPO will replace the screen for free as part of its new OPPO Care program.
To get your screen replaced, you can either drop your phone off at OPPO's Sydney service centre in Macquarie Park or mail it in instead. You are however responsible for the cost of mailing your phone to OPPO. If you purchased your OPPO smartphone on a plan from Vodafone, Optus, or Virgin Mobile, you also have the option of dropping the device to one of your carrier's retail stores.
In order to make a claim, your OPPO phone must have been purchased from an Australian retailer, and you must have proof of purchase. It's also worth noting that OPPO won't provide a free screen replacement if the damage to your phone has been caused by water, and may not replace your screen if your phone is subject to other damage that prevents the company from "reasonably and economically" repairing the display.
If you break your R11s or R11s Plus screen outside of the six-month period, you're looking at between $130 and $150 in repair fees, depending on the model:
- OPPO R11s: $130
- OPPO R11s Plus: $140
- OPPO R11s (Red): $150
At present, OPPO Care free screen replacements are only available for OPPO R11s and OPPO R11s Plus owner.
OPPO isn't the only smartphone manufacturer to have offered such a program. In the past, Huawei had a "Screen Promise" where it would replace a shattered P10 screen in the first three months of ownership, and Samsung ran a "Screen Assure Offer" for the Galaxy Note 8, where early adopters could register to get one free repair in their first 12 months of ownership. While these promotions were all temporary, we're hoping that they'll become more common going forward.
