OPPO today launched the A3s, a new budget smartphone that looks a lot like an iPhone XR. It's got a pretty similar looking notch, uses facial recognition rather than a fingerprint reader, and even comes in a choice of two fun colours.
Of course, the $279 price-point means there's more than a few differences between the OPPO A3s and the iPhone XR. The back is plastic rather than glass, the all-screen display has a bit of a chin under it, and its internals are quite a bit more modest. But hey, at least the OPPO still has a headphone jack.
Key specifications for the OPPO A3s include a 6.2-inch 720+ display, a Snapdragon 450 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 13MP + 2MP dual-rear facing camera setup, and a 4,230mAh battery. It ships running ColorOS 5.1, OPPO's customised take on Android Oreo.
It seems like JB Hi-Fi is currently the only retailer ranging the OPPO A3s. You'll find it in stores and online now in a choice of red or purple for $279.
