While the biggest names in smartphones set up displays at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Motorola today jumped the gun and unveiled its latest — a 4G LTE update for its budget-priced Moto E.
Faster download speeds will definitely be welcome in a phone with a US$149.99 price point. Especially when Motorola also includes a quad-core processor and a 5-megapixel camera.
The new Moto E is slightly bigger than its predecessor, with a 4.5-inch IPS screen, which in turns adds a sliver to the handset’s height and width. It also comes with a 20 percent larger battery compared with last year’s model — up to 2390mAh battery capacity.
There isn’t much here that could be considered new, but it is hard to argue with Motorola’s “more phone for less money” sales philosophy.
