If your sweet tooth is more interested in Nougat than Apple, get hyped: LG’s next-gen 'phablet', the LG V20, is officially here.
The 2016 successor to the LG V10 keeps the secondary display, 5.7-inch screen and overall design found in last year’s device, but packs plenty of upgraded features. Internally, you’ll get a Snapdragon 820 processor, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, plus a microSD card slot for up to 2TB of extra space.
The V20 is all about the cameras, and features a dual camera setup for both its front and rear shooters, with 5-megapixels in front. The rear-facing 16-megapixel main/8-megapixel secondary camera combo includes Optical Image Stabilisation and a hybrid Autofocus system, so it’s ideal for wide-angle shots and serious phone photography.
The V20 also features the new Steady Record 2.0 Electronic Image Stabilisation for premium filming, plus 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC for clearer audio and less background noise. Unlike the LG G5, the V20 isn’t modular, but you do get a removable 3200 mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0.

Excitingly, the V20 is the first device to come with Android 7.0 Nougat straight out of the box. Users will enjoy all the new Android features in combination with LG’s UX 5.0, with the secondary ticker display from the V10 now bigger and brighter. The secondary screen is designed for quick and convenient access to favourite apps, plus easy viewing of notifications and settings.
Not included is water resistance, but you'll still get one-touch fingerprint security and an attractive and lightweight aluminium/polycarbonate body. Overall, the V20 looks set to be a powerful upgrade from last year’s V10, and LG has confirmed both Black Titan and Silver colour options so far.
