Following the launch of its G6 flagship smartphone earlier this year, LG is bringing its extra-tall 18:9 aspect ratio display to several more affordable devices: the Q6 family.
As with the G6, the idea behind the Q6 family is a large display in a small form factor. In this case, the phones all have a 5.5-inch display that runs as 2160x1080 (as opposed to 1920x1080 as you'd find on a more traditional device) and a smaller amount of bezel.
The Q6 family has three separate devices, but the individual differences come down to RAM and storage. The Q6+ will ship with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage, the Q6 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage, and the Q6a with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
Other than RAM and storage, key specifications for the Q6 series devices are identical. These include a Snapdragon 435 processor, a 3000mAh battery, a 13MP rear-facing camera, and an aluminium frame that looks to be paired with a plastic back. They'll ship with LG's customised take on Android Nougat.
The phones will go on sale in Asia next month, with a wider release following "later". We don't know how much you'll have to spend for a Q6 device, but LG says the phones will launch at a "competitive price".
