
Smaller telco Lebara has cut the prices on some of its 360-day mobile plans.
Also known as long-expiry plans these mobile recharges provide a good opportunity for consumers to save on their mobile plan by essentially buying plan data in bulk.
Lebara's $200 Small 360-day recharge with 180GB is being offered for $149 (25% off) and its $300 Large 360-day recharge with 425GB is available for just $199 (33% off).

How good is this deal?
The best way to break down the value of a long expiry plan is to divide it by 12 and see how the inclusions and price compare against monthly plans.
With the small plan, you end up paying around $12.40 each month for 15GB of data. Another way to look at is that you're paying $0.82 per GB. Generally, anything less than $1 per GB is good value for money.
The large plan provides even better value. You end up paying the equivalent of $16.60 per month for 35GB of data a month. In terms of a dollar per GB value, you only end up spending $0.46 per GB.
