Vodafone is slashing $300 off the iPhone when you sign up for one of its 12, 24, or 36-month plans.

With an RRP of $1,229, you're saving over 20%. The cheapest Vodafone postpaid plan starts at $45 per month. With the iPhone on a 36-month repayment plan, you'd end up paying around $70 a month. Not bad for a premium phone right?

How good is the iPhone 13?

The iPhone 13 holds up really well against the iPhone 14. Our reviewer certainly thought the iPhone 14 had little improvement over the former - that's great news if you want to get your hands on a newer Apple handset for less.

We can't fault the iPhone 13's performance or camera quality. The battery should get you through the workday and out the other side. It is however on the smaller size - with a 6.1-inch display, 128GB of storage, and just two rear cameras at 12MP each.

Because you're purchasing a brand new Apple Device you'll also get three months of Apple TV Plus for free ($9.99 per month ongoing).

What's included in a Vodafone mobile plan?

Out of the big three telcos, Vodafone's plans are the most affordable. There are three to choose from and each gets you:

  • Access to Vodaone's 4G and 5G networks. The Vodafone 4G network is the smallest of the big three and covers 96% of Australians. Its 5G rollout is still underway but you can check Vodafone's 5G coverage in your area before you sign up.
  • Unlimited standard national talk and texts. You also get unlimited standard national texts on the Small plan. On the Medium and Large plans, you get unlimited standard calls to Zone 1 countries and 300 mins for Zone 2.
  • Unlimited data. Never worry about excess data charges. Instead, your speed is throttled down to 2Mbps once you use up your data allowance.
  • $5 roaming. Vodafone has the superior roaming offer. For just $5 per day you get access to your full plan inclusions just like you would in Australia. Vodafone's roaming covers over 100 destinations and lets you use your local inclusions overseas.

How does Vodafone's deal compare to Optus and Telstra?

Vodafone has the cheapest iPhone 13 plan with this deal. You can even get Vodafone's Medium plan with more data for less than Optus' cheapest plan.

Paying more can get you better coverage, however. While its cheapest iPhone 13 plan costs $92 per month Telstra does have the best coverage, reaching 99.5% of Australians.

Optus does have better entertainment options, with six months free Amazon Prime Video and ongoing savings through Optus SubHub.
