While Huawei didn’t launch a new smartphone at the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, it confirmed that it will unveil its next flagship handset - the P20 - on March 27 in Paris.
One of the key P20 rumours floating around is that it will have three rear-facing cameras. Huawei’s teaser image seems to confirm this, given that it stylises "more" with three "Os".
Another big rumour is that the P20 will move to an iPhone X style display, notch and all. Alleged renders suggest Huawei won’t follow Apple in killing the fingerprint reader, it will be back on the back, as with 2016’s P9.
Once again, Huawei is expected to launch three P20 variants: the P20, P20 Lite, and P20 Plus.
We’re expecting the P20 and P20 Plus to be powered by the same processor as the Huawei Mate 10, Huawei’s Kirin 970. This would means the phones would have the same dedicated Neural Processing Unit, which allows the camera to recognise 13 different scene types and adjust settings accordingly. We’re assuming this is part of what the "see more with AI" teaser refers to.
