Good deal: Galaxy S8 and 20GB for $49 per month on Optus

It's common knowledge that you can save money by buying last year's smartphone rather than the latest and greatest. But if you move quick, you can get a hell of a deal from Optus. $49 per month gets you a Samsung Galaxy S8 with 20GB of data, unlimited talk and text, and an Optus Sport subscription.

That's $20 less per month than a Galaxy S9 under the same promotion (with 5GB of extra data), although $69 for a Galaxy S9 is pretty nice.

If you want to pick up either new Samsung handset you've got until May 20 to get on these deals.

If you're not looking for a new phone, Optus has some great SIM-only deals going too. $40 per month gets you 30GB of data, but $60 takes this to 100GB.
