OPPO R11

JB Hi-Fi and Officeworks have cut the price of the OPPO R11 from $649 to $499, following the launch of its successor, the OPPO R11s.

While the R11 might not be the new kid on the block anymore, we still think it's a great phone. In fact, some might even prefer it over the R11s. The R11s has great new features like facial recognition and an "all screen" display, but is missing the zoom lens found on the R11.

Both phones also happen to share the same underlying hardware, so there won't be much of a difference in performance or battery life. If you're okay with missing out on a few cool new features, you can save money by opting for the R11 and get a more versatile camera configuration.

An OPPO spokesperson told us they'll continue to sell the R11 for as long as there's customer demand for it.

"We will continue to stock the R11 based on demand for the device," said the spokesperson. "Consumers are increasingly turning their attention to OPPO due to the premium features we offer at an affordable price. However, with the recent launch of the R11s, we expect many will be looking towards our latest premium range smartphone."

If you're trying to pick between the two phones, you can read our review of last year's OPPO R11 here, and the new OPPO R11s here.
