Telstra is currently offering customers the chance to bag an iPhone XR (128GB) with 30GB of data for just $95 per month. The deal is on a 24-month lease plan and comes with unlimited talk and text.
If you're not an Apple fan, that doesn't mean you have to miss out. You can get the same lease with a Samsung Galaxy Note9 for the same price. Or if you'd prefer the iPhone XR 256GB model, it's also available on the plan for $105 per month.
The plans come with data-free streaming of Apple Music, free access live passes from AFL, AFLW, NRL, Netball and the Hyundai A-League, and free access to the Telstra Air WiFi network.
You'll also get "peace of mind" data which means that if you use all your 30GB before the end of the month you'll get access to unlimited data slowed to speeds of 1.5Mbps. This is still fast enough to stream Netflix in SD but note that speeds may be slower during peak hours.
Be aware that these deals are leases which means you won't own your phone at the end of the 24-month contract. Signing up for a phone lease with Telstra can usually save you money on the monthly cost of your plan, but it does mean missing out on the opportunity to keep or sell your phone after the 24 months.
