Good Deal: $200 off a Samsung Galaxy S8

The Galaxy Note 8 is just around the corner, so it should come as no surprise that JB Hi-Fi is trying to flog off some Galaxy S8 stock before Samsung's next big launch. If you pick up a Galaxy S8 through JB Hi-Fi before August 23, you can get it for $999, down from $1,199.

It is however worth noting that August 23 (well August 24 for Australia) is the date Samsung is set to unveil the Note 8 on. The Note 8 will of course be a much larger phone, and is expected to ship with a 6.3-inch display. This is significantly larger than the S8's 5.8-inch screen, so if you prefer smaller phones, a $200 discount could easily outweigh waiting to see what's next.

If you've decided the Note 8 isn't for you, JB is applying the discount to all four colours in the S8 family: black, gold, blue, and silver. No discounts apply to the larger Galaxy S8+.

If you'd prefer a S8 on a plan, Woolworths Mobile is running a Father's Day special on both the S8 and S8+. You can get either phone with 4GB of data for $72 per month and $84 per month respectively, and Woolworths will throw in a bonus Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker (which retails for $289) if you sign up before September 10.
