If you're in the market for a Google Pixel 3, Optus is running a limited-time promotion that's worth taking a look at. For $69 per month you can get a Google Pixel 3 with 100GB of data, plus unlimited talk and text. If you prefer the larger Google Pixel 3 XL, the same deal is on offer for $79 per month.
If you were a fan of Optus' data-free music and video streaming offers with plans, these deals actually represent pretty much your last chance to get it.
All Optus postpaid plans used to come with data-free streaming of Spotify, Google Play Music and iHeart Radio, and the option of data-free streaming of Netflix, Stan and ABC iView. But last week Optus killed off these inclusions as part of a plan refresh. However, they're still available with the Google Pixel deals. But we don't know for how much longer. Data-free video streaming will cost you $5 per month extra.
Of course, with 100GB of data it's unlikely you will need data-free streaming anyway. 100GB will get you about 400 hours' worth of video streaming in SD, or about 800 hours' of music streaming, depending on which service you're using and what your streaming settings are.
It's also worth noting that, while Optus' newly refreshed mobile plans come with either a 6- or 12- month subscription to Apple Music (depending on the size of the plan), the Google Pixel offers do not.
The special offers also come with a free subscription to Optus Sport and the National Geographic app. Both Google Pixel 3 plans are offered on a 24-month contract.
