If you're looking to buy the new OPPO Reno 5G, Telstra is currently offering up to $240 off the device if you pay it off on one of their plans over 24 or 36 months.
The OPPO Reno 5G retails for $1,499 outright. However, if you choose a 24-month repayment plan through Telstra, with the discount included you'll end up paying $1,272 for the phone. Or if you choose a 36-month repayment plan, with the discount included you'll pay $1,260 overall for the phone.
Telstra says this offer is for a limited time only. Here are Telstra's plans coupled with the OPPO Reno 5G on 24-month repayments:
In order to redeem the full discount, you will need to stay connected with Telstra over the full 24 or 36 month repayment period. If you want to leave Telstra before you finish paying off your phone, you'll have to pay out its remaining value with no discount applied.
The OPPO Reno 5G has been one of WhistleOut's favourite smartphones of the year to date, with a genuinely innovative design, excellent camera, and solid battery life. It even picked up one of our WhistleOut Awards for FY18/19.
It's important to be aware, however, that while the phone is 5G-capable, 5G coverage on the Telstra network is currently extremely limited, with only patches available in parts of Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart, Launceston, Toowoomba, and the Gold Coast.
And while 5G should in the future be able to promise speeds of around 3Gbps, in our real-world testing of the nascent Telstra 5G we've only managed to achieve speeds of between 100Mbps and 400Mbps.
However, where 5G coverage isn't available, your OPPO Reno 5G will still be able to connect to Telstra's 4GX, 4G, and 3G networks.
