Good deal: 100GB plus 4GB roaming data for $45 from Optus

Optus has today launched a crazy new deal on its SIM-only plans, offering 100GB of data, plus 4GB of roaming data for $45 per month. When you consider that Optus' $40 SIM-only plan only gets you 50GB, you're essentially getting another 50GB plus the roaming data for only $5 extra per month.

The roaming data on this plan is restricted to Optus' "Zone 1" countries, which consist mainly of countries in North America, Europe, central and South East Asia, and New Zealand. Roaming with Optus on a postpaid plan normally costs customers $10 per day for 100MB, so 4GB of roaming data represents a tonne of value for anyone who regularly travels overseas.

The deal also comes with unlimited talk and text, unlimited international calls to 35 selected countries, free subscriptions to Optus Sport and the National Geographic app, and data-free streaming of Spotify, Google Play Music and iHeart Radio.

You also have the option to add data-free streaming of Netflix, Stan and ABC iView for $5 extra per month. However, with 100GB already included on the plan, you probably won't need it.

The offer is for both new and returning customers and is available until June 30.
