Free Gear Fit 2 when you buy a new Samsung Galaxy S7

If you're thinking about picking a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge, Samsung is sweetening the deal by throwing in a free Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker. Valued at $289, the Gear Fit 2 is perhaps best described as a half-way point between a smartwatch and a fitness tracker. It makes use of a classic fitness band design, but goes much further than most other trackers in terms of rich notification support.

Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Woolworths Mobile, JB Hi-Fi, and Harvey Norman are all participating in the promotion. In order to actually get your Gear Fit 2, you'll need to redeem the offer through Samsung's website. You'll need to provide your new phone's IMEI number and proof of purchase. Samsung says you'll get your Gear Fit 2 within 30 days of when your claim is processed. The promotion runs until March 27.

It is of course worth noting that the Galaxy S8 is just around the corner, so if you're after the latest and greatest, it might be worth waiting a couple of months.
