The HTC U11 has been out for about a month now, and been the subject of more than a few rave reviews - including our own. While you've been able to get it on a contract from Virgin and Optus since launch, Telstra joined the party this week, giving you a few more options if you prefer buying your phones on a plan.
Outright the U11 will set you back $999, which undercuts a lot of the other flagships on the market. This also translates to savings when it comes to 24-month plans: overall, for the U11 over the likes of an iPhone or a Galaxy S8 will save you at least a couple of bucks a month. These savings might not seem like much on a month-to-month basis, but they'll definitely add up over the life of your contract.
While the U11's key new feature is "Edge Sense" - the ability to squeeze the phone to trigger select actions - this is overshadowed by a fantastic camera which we'd call one of the best on the market (at time of writing). Other key specifications include a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, IP67 water-resistance, a 16MP selfie camera, a front-facing fingerprint reader, and a 3,000mAh battery. The U11 runs a lightly customised version of Android Nougat.
