Good deal: double data for new Vodafone prepaid customers

If you’re looking for a prepaid plan, Vodafone is looking to woo new customers with a double data offer. The telco has upped data allowances across its entire suite of prepaid starter packs, but has also cut the price of its $40 starter pack.

$20 gets you first recharge, which gets you either a "$40 Data Combo" or a "$40 Talk Combo". The Data Combo includes 18GB of data, and unlimited talk and text. The Talk Combo includes 12GB of data, unlimited talk and text, and 1000 international minutes to "15 selected countries".

If you sign up to any Vodafone prepaid starter pack and then text "DD" to 1263 before April 10, you'll get also get double data on your next two recharges, provided you're buy a recharge worth at least $40. The half price offer runs until the end February.

Most of Vodafone's prepaid recharges last for 35 days, meaning you'll need to recharge approximately 10 times per year. Other telcos tend to operate on 28-day recharges, which results in approximately 13 recharges per year.
