Dodo SIM Only phone plan customers will see the data on their plan triple if they take up a new 12-month plan.
Labelled 'Ship Loads' of data, the three SIM plans will all benefit from the promotion, with the hero product including 24GB for $39.90 per month. This top tier plan also comes with unlimited calls and SMS, plus 300 minutes to overseas phone numbers.
If you'd prefer to spend less, there are $19.90 and $29.90 options, offering 6GB and 12GB of data respectively, unlimited calls and SMS, but no international inclusions. The promotion runs until 31 May 2018.
The only catch is that, unlike similar promotions from other providers, the bonus data is only valid for the 12-months of the contract, and not for as long as you stay on the plan. After the contract ends, you'll revert back to 1.5GB, 3GB or 8GB, depending on the plan you choose. Of course, at this point you will be able to switch to another plan or a new promotion.
How does the Dodo deal stack up?
Comparing the three price tiers across what is available at the moment, the Dodo deal is worth taking a look at. At $20 and $30 price points, the Dodo promotion is at least a couple of dollars cheaper per month than competitor plans offering the same data.
At $40, the Dodo deal is only bested by Virgin Mobile, which itself has a promotion running through March, offering 28GB for $40 per month.
It is a shame that the data bonus ends after 12-months. Going back to the Virgin Mobile plan for reference, the 28GB per month you get will remain on your plan until you choose to change plans or move to a different provider.
