Catch.com.au is the latest addition to the long list of retailers (including Woolworths, Coles, ALDI, and Kogan) who want to sell you a phone plan. Dubbed Catch Connect, Catch's MVNO is focusing solely on prepaid plans with 30-day and 90-day expiry options.
If you sign up to one of Catch Connect's 90-day plans before March 9, you'll get the value of your first recharge back in the form Catch shopping vouchers. You can only use one voucher per transaction, and that transaction has to be worth at least $60. Catch Connect's 90-day recharges are as follows:
- $39: 6GB of data, three $13 vouchers
- $69: 15GB of data, three $23 vouchers
- $89: 45GB of data, three $29.67 vouchers
This data allowance is for the entire 90-day period.
In terms of 30-day recharges, Catch Connect has the following options:
- $15: 2GB of data
- $25: 5GB of data
- $35: 15GB of data
All Catch Connect phone plans include unlimited talk and text. If you need extra data, you can purchase 1GB for $10, or 2GB for $15. International calling add-ons are also available: $5 gets you $100 minutes to 32 selected countries, and $10 gets you 300 minutes.
Catch Connect also has two data-only plans:
- $30: 10GB of data
- $40: 30GB of data
Catch Connect is powered by Optus' 4G network.
It's worth noting that Catch hasn't had a stellar reputation when it comes to customer privacy. The company once waited three years to report a data breach that revealed names, delivery addresses, email addresses, encrypted passwords, and in some instances, credit cards. Hopefully they've learned from this mistake.
