Underwhelmed by the oversized iPhone X, but still in the market for a new Apple smartphone? Optus' newest iPhone 8 deal may be worth your while.
Pick up the 64GB iPhone 8 or 8 Plus from Optus, and you'll get a free memory upgrade with either device: in other words, 256GB of storage for the price of just 64GB. Considering there's a price difference of $250 between the 64GB and 256GB models of both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, it's a pretty sweet deal.
Neither the iPhone 8 or 8 Plus are available outright from Optus, so you'll need to buy your phone on a 24-month My Plan Plus or My Plan Flex option. My Plan Plus is a standard two-year contract which sees customers paying off their device over 24 equal payments, whereas My Plan Flex is Optus' new-ish leasing plan.
If you decide to lease via a Flex plan, you'll pay around $10 less each month in phone payments (depending on your choice of service plan). After 12 months of payments, you can return your iPhone to Optus and upgrade to a hot new device for $99, or continue to lease until your two-year contract ends.
Regardless of whether you decide to buy or lease, you can still choose from the same Optus service plans, with the same monthly prices and data inclusions. My Plan options start from $45 per month for 2GB of data and unlimited calls and texts, plus Optus perks including data-free music and mobile TV streaming from selected services, and a free Optus Sport subscription.

Our pick? If you want a decent amount of data, we recommend the $85 per month, 14GB option: normally this plan includes just 7GB of monthly data, but customers signing up before December 3 will receive a bonus 7GB each month at no extra cost.
