Screen protectors might not be the most interesting of "tech" products, but the latest models from InvisibleShield have a unique twist. Dubbed Glass+ VisionGuard, the tempered glass screen protector doesn't just protect your screen, it cuts the blue light emitted from your phone thanks to an integrated "EyeSafe" layer.
Blue light can cause eye strain and can disrupt sleep; as such many phones now have a blue-light-reducing "night mode" built into their software. However, these night modes give displays a warm, orange tint. By contrast, the Glass+ VisionGuard is able to reduce blue light without affecting your screen's colour by only cutting out colour frequencies not visible to the human eye. We've tested the protector on our iPhone XR and the claim checks out; the display was still vibrant as ever.
You can currently get an InvisibleShield Glass+ VisionGuard screen protector for iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, Pixel 3, and Pixel 3 XL. The iPhone XS screen protector will also fit last year's iPhone X. You'll find them at Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Harvey Norman, and JB Hi-Fi.
InvisibleShield is planning to launch iPad-specific Glass+ VisionGuard screen protectors at the start of next year.
