Have you ever thought that BlackBerries are too …black? You might not be the only one, as BlackBerry has lightened up with the KEY2 LE, a more affordable, colourful version of the KEY2 (which still hasn’t launched locally). There's still a more conservative slate black variant on offer for Mr. Corporate, but the KEY2 LE will also ship in two rather fetching colours: champagne gold and atomic red.
New colours aside, the KEY2 LE is pretty much a cheaper version of the KEY2 with more modest hardware under the hood. It still has a physical keyboard with cool software tricks, it still has a 4.5-inch touchscreen above with a slightly odd 3:2 aspect ratio, and it still runs BlackBerry's take on Android Oreo.
Key specifications for the KEY2 LE include a 4.5-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 636 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a 13MP + 5MP dual rear-facing camera, and a 3,000mAh battery.
The KEY2 LE will be on sale globally from September, but we don't have a specific date for Australia yet. We do however know it will set you back $699 outright.
