USB Type-C has all but killed microUSB when it comes to flagship smartphones, and with the upcoming launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8, every "new" flagship device you can buy in Australia - well, other than iPhone - will be touting the new style connector. As such, it's no surprise that Belkin is keen to keep expanding its family of USB Type-C cables: the accessory manufacturer is launching an extra durable Kevlar reinforced cable.
Part of the Mixit DuraTek line, the new USB Type-C cables are USB Type-C to USB Type-C, about 1.2 metres long, and retail for $39.95.
"We've made our DuraTek cables so strong because we know that ordinary cables aren't tough enough to endure the challenges we put them through. After all, cables should be made to serve us, not the other way around," said Belkin Vice President of Design, Oliver Seil. "We also did not want to compromise on elegance and aesthetic appeal while reinforcing the structure, so we started from the inside out and redesigned the way we construct a cable."
Belkin also has Kevlar reinforced Lighting cables, for the iPhone inclined.
