Apple just unveiled three expensive new iPhones, but there's still good news for those that don't want to spend big on a top of the line device. The iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus have all received a price cut.
Reductions on old models aren't quite as deep as they have been in previous years thanks to a weak Australian dollar, but hey, a discount is still a discount. Here's the new prices for every older iPhone still on sale:
- New iPhone 7 32GB price: $749
- New iPhone 7 128GB price: $919
- New iPhone 7 Plus 32GB price: $929
- New iPhone 7 Plus 128GB price: $1,099
- New iPhone 8 64GB price: $979
- New iPhone 8 256GB price: $1,229
- New iPhone 8 Plus 64GB price: $1,149
- New iPhone 8 Plus 256GB price: $1,399
These price cuts are already in effect if you're buying direct from Apple, but at time of writing, we've noticed that retailers including JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman are still charging last year's price for old models.
Old iPhone discounts on a plan
If you'd prefer to grab an older iPhone model on a plan, telcos have already started discounting last year's devices. Notably, even though Apple has discontinued the iPhone X, we're seeing carriers selling old stock for a bit cheaper than they were this time last week. Here's the lowdown:
- Optus has dropped prices on iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus.
- Vodafone has dropped prices on iPhone, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus. 256GB iPhone 8 and Phone 8 Plus have been dropped from its range.
- Telstra has yet to drop prices on older iPhone models and has stopped selling the iPhone 7 Plus.
