Android Nougat comes to Moto Z, Moto Z Play, Moto G4 Plus

Moto Z, Moto Z Play, and Moto G4 Plus smartphones sold in Australia and New Zealand can now be updated to Nougat, the latest version of the Android operating system. The update will show up on compatible phones as a notification, but you can also update via Android's settings menu.

New features added in Nougat include quick switching, support for split screen applications, the option to use two or more languages at the same time, 72 new emojis, and under the hood improvements to security and battery conservation.

The Nougat update also enables Daydream VR on the Moto Z (but not the Moto Z Play). Daydream is a relatively new virtual reality platform from Google, and uses the combination of a headset and small controller for more immersive virtual reality experiences. At present, the Google's Daydream View is the only Daydream VR compatible headset on the market. The Moto Z is compatible with the Daydream View.
