Yatango has updated its prices, dropping the cost of its limitless Voice and Text option in what it’s calling “substantial reductions”. The build-your-own-plan telco is certainly offering good pricing if you need a large number of SMS and Voice minutes each month.
Without any data, you’ll pay $34 for the Limitless Voice + SMS option. The good news is that the price doesn’t particularly skyrocket once you start adding GBs.
With 1GB of data, the Limitless package is just $45 per month. That isn’t what you might call revolutionary for an MVNO, but what about if you double it? 2GB will cost you only $4 more per month at $49. That is much better. In fact, it’s one of the cheapest deals on the market with this many inclusions.
The only thing that compares is amaysim’s Unlimited plan that offers the same limitless amount of calls and text, but with a full 4GB of data for $39.90 per month. At this point Yatango may start to sound less appealing, but there is still one very important factor.
Yatango has 4G

Where amaysim users are stuck on old 3G speeds, Yatango has access to the Optus 4G network. This is a big deal, and should be well worth the cost differential to many users. If you’ve ever used 4G and tried to go back to 3G you’d understand. It’s not a sacrifice that one can make without substantial frustration.
$49 per month for 2GB of 4G data with unlimited talk and text is a very competitive offer. It’s well worth considering if you’re in the market for a SIM-only plan and need to make a seriously large number of calls.
The rest of Yatango’s plans have also dropped across the board. Most changes to the text and voice packs are by around $1-$2 per month each, which can end up saving you $2-4 when put together.
There is also a new 1000 minute plan for $25 and a new 1000 SMS pack for $19. When we say “new” we really mean “renamed and lessened”. The 1000 plans have replaced what were originally options for Unlimited Talk (without text) and Unlimited SMS (without talk). Still, we can’t see too many people using more than 1000 minutes of calls each month, so it shouldn’t be an issue.
Data packs have seen more significant drops, especially the 2GB:
- 500MB Data Pack now $9 was $10
- 1GB Data Pack now $11 was $15
- 2GB Data Pack now $15 was $24
- 3GB Data Pack now $25 was $29
Any other data packs remain unchanged.
Yatango has also given its website an overhaul. It's a big improvement that is much easier to navigate, but it should be noted that you can no longer sign in to your account using your mobile phone number. From now on you'll need to login with either your email address or via Facebook.
