Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 2 is one of the most expensive smartphones around, with a cool $2,999 asking price. While that's a lot of cash, Woolworths Mobile will cut $250 from the asking price if you pre-order the new foldable ahead of its September 25 release date. $2,749 is still a hell of a lot of money to pay for a new phone, but hey, a discount is a discount.
Woolies' $250 discount comes out of your monthly handset repayments. This works out to be a $10.41 per month saving over a 24-month repayment, or $6.94 per month over a 36-month repayment
Anyone who pre-orders will also get a bonus pair of Galaxy Buds Live, valued at $319.
The only other telco taking Galaxy Z Fold 2 pre-orders is Vodafone, but these plans aren't available online yet. If you want to nab your Fold 2 through Vodafone, you'll need to head into a store, call up, or bug live chat. Vodafone's 24-month plans are as follows:
- Vodafone Galaxy Z Fold 2 plan with 10GB: $164.95
- Vodafone Galaxy Z Fold 2 plan with 50GB: $160.95
- Vodafone Galaxy Z Fold 2 plan with 60GB: $174.95
- Vodafone Galaxy Z Fold 2 plan with 100GB: $184.95
- Vodafone Galaxy Z Fold 2 plan with 200GB: $204.95
Vodafone is currently offering discounts on its plans ranging from $5 to $15 per month, but these only last for the first year of service are excluded from the above pricing. Vodafone isn't offering Galaxy Buds Live as a pre-order bonus either.
Telstra will have the Galaxy Z Fold 2 available from October 9, while Optus will have it from September 25. Neither telco is taking pre-orders, nor have they confirmed their plans, but we expect that Telstra's will start at roughly $180 per month with 40GB on a 24-month term, and Optus' at $164 per month with 10GB on a 24-month term.
