Got an old Samsung phone you want to ditch for a shiny new Galaxy S10? If you trade it in with Vodafone before May 20, you can get as much as $680 in credit toward a Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, or Galaxy S10e plan.
Trade-in value depends on device. Newer models are worth more, but Vodafone will accept devices as old the Galaxy S7. Here's how trade-in value you'll get for eligible devices:
- Samsung Galaxy S9 64GB: Up to $650
- Samsung Galaxy S9 256GB: Up to $650
- Samsung Galaxy S9+ 64GB: Up to $660
- Samsung Galaxy S9+ 256GB: Up to $680
- Samsung Galaxy S8 64GB: Up to $410
- Samsung Galaxy S8+ 64GB: Up to $430
- Samsung Galaxy Note 8: Up to $460
- Samsung Galaxy S7 64GB: Up to $315
- Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge 64GB: Up to $330
The exact amount of credit you receive will depend on the condition of your phone. At a minimum, it has to be in good working order. In short, your phone still needs to turn on, be free from screen damage, and free from major cosmetic damage.
Trade-in credit is applied directly to your bill. You can add it as a recurring credit to your bill over 12, 24, or 36 months, or alternatively, you can get the full amount added in one go.
So is this a good deal? Well, it depends on exactly what you model you're trying to get rid of. $650 for a 64GB Galaxy S9 isn't a bad offer, and is comparable to what you'll find S9s going for on eBay. The trade-in value for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge is especially decent, given their age. On the other hand, the trade-in value for the 256GB Galaxy S9 models leaves a little to be desired. In short, it's definitely worth doing a little research on your phone's value before you make the trade.
To trade in your old Galaxy, you'll need to head to a Vodafone store and do it in person. You can however sign up for whichever Galaxy S10 plan you want ahead of time, and then just get the credit applied to your bill. Here's a selection of Vodafone Galaxy S10 plans:
