
Both Telstra and Vodafone are offering free calls to Nepal in the wake of the devastating Earthquake on April 25. Full details below taken from the Telstra and Vodafone official blogs.
Telstra:
“To help our customers check on friends and relatives affected by the earthquake, we’re offering free standard voice calls and texts for calls made from post paid mobiles and fixed lines to Nepal from 6am AEST on 25 April until 6am AEST on 9 May.
For pre-paid customers, we’re offering a refund of the costs of your standard voice calls and SMS to Nepal from 6am AEST on 25 April until 6am AEST on 9 May (refunds will be applied by 14 May).
Please keep in mind that disruption to services in Nepal may impact calls getting through.”

Vodafone:
“Vodafone post-paid customers will receive free calls between Australia and Nepal from 12.01am AEST Saturday, 25 April and 11.59pm AEST on Friday, 1 May 2015.The free-rated calls will be applied to calls from Vodafone post-paid mobiles during that period.
The free-rated calls will be applied to calls from Vodafone post-paid mobiles during that period. For customers with a monthly bill cycle falling between the 2nd and 24th of the month, the free calls will be credited on the same bill. Customers with a bill cycle between the 25th and 1st of the month will be sent an SMS with a call charge amount, advising them to short-pay their current bill. The credit will be applied on the following bill.
Pre-paid customers will receive free calls made between Australia and Nepal for one week from 12.01am AEST on Wednesday, 29 April 2015 to 11.59pm AEST on Tuesday, 5 May 2015.
Any pre-paid customers who made calls between the two countries from 25 April to 29 April can contact our Customer Care Centre on 1300 650 410 or +61 414 14 14 14 to discuss their individual circumstances.
