Telstra has opened up its Samsung Galaxy Note 4 preorders shortly after Vodafone, Optus and Virgin. Better still, after you preorder you can enter the competition to win $25 000 worth of gold. All you have to do is visit one of Telstra’s eligible sites and say what you’d do with your haul of shiny gold. The winner is picked based on their entry. This isn't a chance draw, so make sure your application is a good one.
Of course, you have to preorder the phone on a repayment plan first, and there’s a limit of one entry per customer. The competition starts today and ends November 4.
You can check out the full terms and conditions here.
If you don’t fancy your chances then you can still get a little bit of that bling fix. Telstra is exclusively offering a bronze-gold version of the Galaxy Note 4, as well as the usual white and black models.
Plans & Pricing

As on other carriers, the Note 4 is no budget smartphone. Plans start at $77 per month for 500MB of data and $550 credit for talk and MMS. On top of this you can choose between an extra 500MB or $500 for calls/mms. Most people will probably opt for that extra 500MB, meaning you’ll get 1GB in total each month.
All plans offer unlimited SMS.
The $82 plan is going to suit more people. It gives you 1.5GB and $700 talk/MMS. For this plan the extra inclusions are either 1GB or $1000 calls/MMS. Once again data is usually the more popular choice, so you’d be looking at 2.5GB per month.
In total there are 4 plans to choose from, so if you feel you’d need even more than the $82 option chances are you’re covered.
