Telstra has once again started offering new phones on 36-month repayment plans, ahead of iPhone 13 pre-orders kicking off tomorrow night. Telstra used to offer 36-month repayment terms, but axed them as part of a plan refresh in the middle of last year.
A 36-month repayment lowers your monthly bill in exchange for a longer commitment. Consider iPhone 13 models cost as much as $2,719 for the 1TB iPhone 13 Pro Max, spreading that damage out over three years might not be the worst idea. Vodafone and Optus also offer 36-month repayment terms.
Opting for a 36-month repayment doesn't mean you're locked into your telco for three years, but if you decide to leave early, you'll need to pay out the remaining value of your device.
36-month plan options may not be a permanent fixture at Telstra, however.
"We’ve reintroduced 36-month repayment options on mobile devices on a promotional basis to give our customers with even more affordable ways to purchase a device," said a Telstra spokesperson.
