Telstra has cut $10 off the price of all BYO phone plans, for the next 24 hours only. Along with huge data bonuses that are already being offered, that brings the three BYO phone plans to:
- 30GB for $39 per month, was $49 per month
- 60GB for $59 per month, was $69 per month
- 90GB for $79 per month, was $89 per month
The discount applies to the life of the 12 month plan. The offer ends on Friday 16 November at 5pm.
It's rare to see Australia's biggest and most expensive telco cut prices, and better yet, they're available to new and existing customers. If you were already thinking about getting a plan with Telstra or you're a Telstra customer who's looking to recontract, we'd say jump on it.
All plans come with unlimited talk and text, access to the super-fast Telstra 4GX network, data-free streaming of Apple Music and a free six-month membership to Apple Music. You also get data-free live streaming of AFL, AFLW, NRL, Netball and Hyundai A-League and access to over 1 million WiFi hotspots as part of the Telstra Air network.
On top of all that, if you choose the 60GB or 90GB plan you'll also get included peace of mind data. That means if you max out your plan's monthly data allowance you can continue to use data without incurring extra charges. Speeds will just be limited to 1.5Mbps, but that's still fast enough to stream Netflix in SD.
While these discounts are definitely a good deal from Telstra, if you're after big data, it's worth noting that you can still save more money by choosing another provider. Optus and Vodafone, for example, are both currently offering 30GB for $35 per month. You can even get 80GB for $48 per month from Think Mobile or 90GB for $74 per month from Hive or Jeenee Mobile. Hive and Jeenee's plans are however limited to 3G speeds.
