Foldables are some of the most expensive smartphones on the market, but new price cuts have made Samsung's range just that little more affordable.
The Galaxy Fold 2 is now $2,499 outright, down from $2,999. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G is down to $1,749, having originally launched at $2,149. And the 4G Galaxy Z Flip will now set you back $1,499, down from $1,999.
These price cuts apply to the devices outright, as well as on a plan.
Only Optus and Woolworths Mobile are currently ranging the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.
While Samsung's foldables are still undeniably expensive, the price cuts could make them just that little bit more palatable and brings them more in with other premium smartphones.
In our Galaxy Z Fold 2 review, we thought the device represented a welcome evolution of the foldable form-factor and addressed almost every pain point from the original. Our main concern was the $2,999 price-point - after all, a phone that expensive isn't exactly a rational purchase.
In our Galaxy Z Flip review, we were concerned that the 2020 device was saddled with tech from 2019 - especially when it came to cameras. It felt more like a status symbol than a top-of-the-line phone.
These price cuts are permanent, rather than temporary discounts.
