Samsung has been announcing its S series flagship phones in January for the last few years, but several reports suggest the Galaxy S26 family could be launching a little later in 2026.
Greek website TechManiacs was the first to report on the Galaxy S26 series being delayed until March, and these claims have now been backed up by reputable leakers including Ice Universe and Setsuna Digital.
While it isn't clear why Samsung may have delayed its flagship phone launch, other reports say the company has cancelled development of the Galaxy S26 Edge due to disappointing Galaxy S25 Edge sales. Rumours suggested the Galaxy S26 Edge would replace the Galaxy S26 Plus in the Galaxy S26 family, but it is now believed Samsung is reintroducing the Plus to the lineup.
This change of plans could be enough to necessitate a delay.
Samsung has typically unveiled its flagship phones in January or February, but these releases have been moving earlier and earlier. While the Galaxy S20 family was unveiled in late February ahead of an early March release date, the Galaxy S25 family was revealed in January ahead of a mid-February release.
In recent years, Samsung's A-series devices have taken the spotlight in March ahead of an April release date. If the company's Galaxy S26 release has indeed moved into March, it's unclear of what this would mean for Samsung's more affordable phones.
