Samsung will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event at 5am (AEDT) on January 23. In a press release, the manufacturer confirmed it will use the event to unveil its next S series phones - presumably the Galaxy S25 family. Once again, three phones are expected: the standard Galaxy S25, the Galaxy S25 Plus, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
While Samsung has yet to provide any specifics about the devices themselves, AI will once again be a key feature for the phones.
"Get ready for AI that is more natural and intuitive. The next evolution of Galaxy AI is coming and it’s going to change the way you interact with the world every day," said Samsung in a press release.
Pre-orders are expected to start on January 23. In previous years, the phones have been available a week or two after the launch event, typically on a Friday. This could mean the Galaxy S25 family might hit shelves on January 31 or February 7.
Anyone who registers for more information on the Samsung Australia website can get a $200 digital voucher to put toward the new devices. The voucher will be worth $200 between January 23 and 4.59am AEDT January 26. After that, the value will drop to $100, which will be valid until February 13.
According to the rumour mill, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will swap its predecessor's squared-off aesthetic for a softer, rounder look—similar to the standard Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus. The three phones are all expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. There have also been leaks suggesting Samsung is working on a thinner take on the Galaxy S25 - the "Galaxy S25 Slim" - but it may not launch until later this year.
