Samsung has announced the Galaxy S24 FE, its latest "Fan Edition" mobile phone. Samsung's FE range - short for Fan Edition - is the semi-premium option in its portfolio. They're a step down from its best of the best, but represent a solid improvement over its mid-tier A-series devices.
The Galaxy S24 FE naturally shares a lot of similarities with the Galaxy S24, but starts at $1,099. That's $300 cheaper than what Samsung charges for the Galaxy S24, but $100 more expensive than last year's Galaxy S23 FE.
The Galaxy S24 FE benefits from a few meaningful improvements this year, including a larger 6.7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate (up from 6.5-inch) and a 4,700mAh battery (up from 4,500mAh).
The Galaxy S24 FE shares a similar design to the Galaxy S24 family, has the same 50MP primary camera, as well as features like IP68 water-resistance, eSIM, and wireless charging.
Other key specifications include an Exynos 2400e chipset, 8GB of RAM, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, 8MP 3x zoom camera, 10MP selfie camera, and a choice of 128GB or 256GB of storage.
Notably, the Galaxy S24 FE will get the same seven years of security and operating system updates mainline S24 family and Samsung's latest foldables have been promised.
While the Galaxy S24 FE's $1,099 price tag is far cheaper than most flagship-grade phones, it's worth remembering the Galaxy S24 is over six months old now, and has seen pretty generous discounts.
Vodafone, for example, is currently discounting the Galaxy S24 to $1,099 for customers who pick it up on one of its mobile plans. Here are Vodafone's 36-month Galaxy S24 plans:
The Galaxy S24 FE is available in graphite, blue, and mint. Outright pre-orders start today, while mobile providers will start offering it on a phone plan from October 10. You'll pay $1,099 for the 128GB model, or $1,199 for a 256GB.
