The Galaxy S10 hasn't even been officially announced yet, but it looks like it will hit stores as early as March 8. Samsung has started taking "pre-registrations" for its new smartphone in the US, promising March 8 delivery for customers who get in quick. While there could be some variance locally, Australian Samsung flagship launches have typically been in line with the US.
Samsung is set to officially unveil the Galaxy S10 on February 21 at 6am. Local pre-orders should start on February 22, ahead of the presumed March 8 release date.
There's probably not too much left for Samsung to reveal, however. With less than a week to go, information about the Galaxy S10 series has leaked heavily - including seemingly official renders as pictured above.
A trio of devices is on the cards: a 5.8-inch Galaxy S10e, a 6.1-inch "standard" Galaxy S10, and a larger 6.4-inch Galaxy S10+. It's expected that the Galaxy S10e may have a flat display, while the other two are set to use the same kind of curved displays we've seen in the Galaxy S9.
The phones will all have camera-cut out displays where the selfie-camera is built directly into the screen. Notably, the Galaxy S10+ will have two front-facing cameras in its cut-out, but we're not 100% sure what the second will be used for yet. In terms of rear-facing cameras, the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ will have three lenses on the back, but you'll only find two on the Galaxy S10e.
Local pricing is still an unknown, but Gizmodo UK published a massive leak at the end of last year which included UK pricing for the three main models. These are the direct conversions to Australia dollars, which could indicate what we'll pay locally.
- Galaxy S10e (128GB): £699 - AUD$1,226
- Galaxy S10 (128GB): £799 - AUD$1,401
- Galaxy S10 (512GB): £999 - AUD$1,752
- Galaxy S10 Plus (128GB): £899 - AUD$1,676
- Galaxy S10 Plus (512GB): £1,099 - AUD$1,927
- Galaxy S10 Plus (1TB): £1,399 - AUD$2,453
At the same time, many vendors set prices according to local market conditions, rather than directly converting from another currency. Plans are also an unknown, but we'll have every Galaxy S10 plan here as soon as they're made official.
Samsung will also use its February 21 event to reveal it’s foldable smartphone - a device we know far less about.
