5G phones are set to get a little cheaper with the launch of the Galaxy A90 5G, the first 5G smartphone in Samsung's "midrange" device family.
Announced today, the new device sits at the top of the Samsung A series - handsets Samsung considers a bit less premium and a little more affordable than its flagship Galaxy S and Galaxy Note range.
Despite being part of the A series, the Galaxy A90 5G is powered by a top-end Snapdragon 855 processor we've seen in pretty much every flagship Android phone this year.
Other key specifications for the Galaxy A90 5G include a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display, 128GB of storage, either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, an in-screen fingerprint reader, a 48MP + 8MP + 5MP rear-facing camera setup, and a 4,500mAh battery.
Of course, we don't know quite know exactly how much the Galaxy A90 5G will cost yet - in any market -, so we're not quite sure how much you'll save compared to so the Galaxy S10 5G, or even the OPPO Reno 5G.
However, we know the Galaxy A90 5G is coming to Australia, and Samsung says it is working with both telcos and outright retailers. The company plans to share pricing and availability in the coming weeks.
For comparison, Samsung's Galaxy A70 - the current top-end device in the Galaxy A family - retails for $649.
